You’ve had a lot of experience and you do a very nice job of
explaining your experiences and your accomplishments. When creating the
bullet points for the various sections, which will be explained below,
I’ve worded the actual projects and accomplishments in such a way
as to emphasize your leadership, initiative, capability, and
communication skills. I created a variant of an IT template for your resume. While your experience is mostly in IT fields, you stated quite specifically that you wanted to move into a sales or project management position. IT Resume Example Tip: Since one of the most important pieces of information for you to get across is your desire to move into this new field, I chose a resume that had an “Objectives” section. I combined this template with an IT-specific format by including a section for your “Computer Skills” after the “Objectives” section and before the “Employment” section. For
the “Computers Skills” section I’ve divided your
skills into Software, Operating Systems, and Programming Languages. In
addition, I placed your email address before your phone number, since
for an IT position it’s likely that the hiring manager would

new resume is one page, the industry standard (except for senior
executives with decades of experience). Therefore, I excluded your
college activities and summer school classes because they aren’t
relevant to the job search. As
you can see, I’ve summarized your comments about your goals and
overall skills into the paragraph about objectives. The idea here is to
communicate what you can do and what you want to do as briefly as
possible. IT Resume Example Tip: For
the Employment section, I’ve listed your two major jobs and your
one important internship, giving one or two bullet points about your
general responsibilities and, for the two jobs, giving a “primary
project” heading which includes your most striking, interesting,
or important project. For the job at TJM, I included the “TJM
Technical Note Central,” and for the job at TechSoft I included
the reporting utility you worked on creating. All
decisions to modify or exclude data were in keeping with the guidelines
and standards set forth by the Professional Association of Resume
